Q: How do I reduce the GPS to output only GP Sentences? (F110G7, K120G3, B360G2, B360G3, S510, S410G5, X600)

A: Please follow the below steps:

  1. Go to https://gps.getac.com
  2. Download the first item there to download GetacGPSCommand
  3. Unzip the file
  4. Download the custom.ini file from this article below in attachment area
  5. Copy and paste the custom.ini into the folder that has the GetacGPSCommand.exe that you unzipped
    • The default baud rate of this GPS is 115200, if your software ABSOLUTELY has to have it be a different baud rate then open custom.ini
    • After the $PAIR400,0 line press enter to create a new line
    • On the new line type $PAIR864,0,0,4800 or $PAIR864,0,0,9600 depending on which you need
    • Save the file and close it
  6. From the folder you just pasted the file into with GetacGPSCommand click the path at the top
  7. Type CMD and press enter to open command prompt within that folder path
  8. Open Control Panel
  9. Click Small / Large Icons at the top right
  10. Open Getac GPS Service
  11. Click Disable and Ok
  12. In command prompt window type G then tab to fill in GetacGPSCommand.exe and type /c and tab to fill in custom.ini and press enter
  13. It should then program the GPS to to now output GP only
    • You can test by typing GetacGPSCommand 3 115200 and press enter. 3 Being whatever your COM port is for the GPS. If its a different number put that number instead
    • It would then output the GPS strings from the GPS for about 15 seconds or so. It should output the GPGGA, GPGSV and GPRMC only
  14. You can close window and open your CAD/CRM
  15. Make sure you're pointing it to the COM port for your GPS at baud rate of 115200, unless you changed it to 9600 or 4800.
