Q: How do I add a Prefix to any barcode that I scan?

A: To clear current prefix and add a new one please follow the below steps:

Please download the User Guide for the Opticon Barcode from HERE

Using the barcode generator https://www.the-qrcode-generator.com/ below is an example of creating a prefix barcode.

In below example I will be adding lower case def as the prefix. The codes for the letters can be found in the manual on page 46 that can be downloaded above. Following the example you'd start with @MENU_OPTO@ZZ@ then put the code MG for clearing all prefix. You need to put a @ between each code used. Then RY is adding a prefix to any type of barcode type you're scanning. then you'll see $D for d and $E for e and $F for f then the closing code of @ZZ@OTPO_UNEM@

You'd take this whole line and at the barcode generator site click the free text tab to paste that in and it will create a QR Code that would be scanned by your unit.

@MENU_OPTO@ZZ@MG@RY@$D@$E@$F@ZZ@OTPO_UNEM@

You can be able to use this example to create any of the prefix barcode's you need and just have them printed all on a sheet with showing which one is which so when you want to change between you can scan that barcode for the prefix, scan your UPC and then if you need to change prefix scan the appropriate one you made and continue.
