Q: My TPM was version 2.0 and had downgraded it to 1.2. How do I revert it back to TPM 2.0?
A: Please follow the following steps:
Execute Procedure 1, then 2, then 3
Procedure 1 (Clear Owner state):
- Disable Bitlocker on unit
- Reset unit and enter into BIOS
- Go to the Security Tab
- Enter TPM setup menu
- Change "Change TPM Status" from No change to Clear
- Change Intel Trusted Execution Technology from Enabled to Disabled (If available, skip if not present)
- Save and exit BIOS
- Enter Into BIOS again
- Go to the Security tab
- Enter TPM setup menu
- Change "Change TPM Status" from No change to enabled and activated
- Save and Exit BIOS
Procedure 2 (Update TPM firmware):
- Visit our Getac Driver Page https://support.getac.com/Portal/Page/763
- Put in your serial number and click submit
- Find the TPM 1.2 to 2.0 file and click download
- Insert a UEFI Bootable USB Stick
- Unzip files downloaded and place on the USB Stick
- Reset and UEFI boot from the USB TPM firmware update disk
- Execute update.nsh
- Wait for the TPM firmware update to finish
- Press and hold power button to power off system
Procedure 3 (Execute TPM Provision):
- Turn the unit back on and enter into BIOS
- Go to the Security Tab
- Enter TPM setup menu
- Change TPM support from Enabled to Disabled
- Save and exit BIOS
- UEFI boot from USB TPM firmware update disk
- Type cd TPM20PROV
- Press Enter
- Type tpmprov
- Press Enter
- Wait for TPM provisioning to finish
- Once complete press and power button to power off system
- Power on the system
- Enter into BIOS
- Go to the Security page
- Enter TPM setup menu
- Change TPM support from disabled to enabled
- Exit and Save Changes
