Downgrade TPM from 2.0 to 1.2

Q: How do I downgrade my TPM 2.0 to 1.2?

 

A: Please follow these steps:

  1. Open PowerShell on the unit in question
  2. Type Get-TPM | Select ManufacturerVersion
  3. Press Enter
    a. It will display your current version example: 5.51 or 5.62
  4. Visit our Getac Driver Page https://support.getac.com/Portal/Page/763
  5. Put in your serial number and press Submit
  6. Find the TPM downgrade from 2.0 to 1.2 that goes with your current version
  7. Click Download across from it
  8. Disable Bitlocker function from Windows OS
  9. Create a UEFI bootable USB Stick
  10. Unzip file downloaded and put contents on USB
  11. Reset Computer and go into BIOS
  12. Go to the Security Tab of BIOS
  13. Enter TPM setup menu
  14. Change TPM support from Enabled to Disabled
  15. Change Intel Trusted Execution Technology from Enabled to Disabled (if it is available, if not then skip)
  16. Save and exit BIOS
  17. Insert TPM firmware update USB you created if it is not already inserted
  18. UEFI boot from USB TPM firmware update disk
  19. Execute update.nsh
  20. Wait for TPM firmware update and TPM provision to complete
  21. Once Complete press and hold power button to power off system
