Overview
CAD events can be configured to automatically categorize Assets and apply the matching CAD ID to the metadata. This ensures that every Asset has the correct Retention period for its type and makes them easier to find in Getac Enterprise.
Required Data
To set up the CAD Sync Service to also categorize matched assets, Getac will need a list of all possible CAD categories or event types from the CAD system. We will then work with you to decide what each CAD category should relate to within your defined Getac categories. Because these categories define the Retention period of the video Assets, the final list does need agency sign off. Below is an example of the required data. Utilize the dropdown lists in the provided spreadsheet to select the Getac Category that corresponds to the CAD Category in the first column.
See image below for an example:
- If a desired Getac Category is not available in the list, contact the Getac CAD integration team with the exact category name and Retention period to get an updated spreadsheet.
- Spreadsheet is password protected and CANNOT be edited.
Automatically Categorize Assets
Once the required data is gathered and the CAD Sync service is updated with this information, all video Assets that are matched with a CAD event will automatically be categorized.
The example below has an Asset with the CadID of 2021-00003290 and the Asset was categorized as 'Traffic Stop w/Citation':
